Where it all started

Our founders, Bob Wagner and Glen Livock, began their careers in 1966 with the desire to offer their financial planning solutions to the people and businesses in their community.

Bob Wagner, began his career in 1951 with the desire to offer their financial planning solutions to the people and businesses in their community; operating as a licensed advisor for over 50 years, starting his career with Mutual Life.

In 1966, Bob was elected to Kitchener Council and served from 1967-1980. Appointed in 1970, as Council representative on the Board of the newly organized K-W Oktoberfest Inc.

In 1975, Bob took over the chairmanship of the Council Committee from the late Councilor Harold Chapmen developing the Centre in the Square project (approved the project in September 1978), a World Class entertainment facility.

“I suspect my life has been so rewarding for me because I always took the time to listen first; before I tried to help. There is no magic in that, but it is comfortable for me and seems to be appreciated by others.”

- Bob Wagner

Glen Livock, in the late 70’s led the initiative to place group contracts for companies with at minimum 5 members. This allowed Glen to tap into a whole new market that was inaccessible at that time as groups at a minimum requirement of 15 – 20 employees.

Served as chairman of the Maple Syrup Festival in Elmira in the early 90’s and continued participating for 2 decades. Glen was also a Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) from 1963 into the 90’s, where he served in various capacities before being VP & then President.

“My career as a professional advisor has been guided by a desire to do the best I can for my clients. Imagine my delight when I joined the team that was driven by the same ethics and values that are so much part of me."

- Glen Livock

Because this team has always had a keen interest in our community, they established the Wagner, Livock Fund at the Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation to help support local community initiatives.
