As an Associate Advisor, you will play a pivotal role as a trusted financial expert dedicated to helping clients achieve their financial goals through personalized planning and investment strategies. By providing expert financial advice, managing portfolios effectively, and building lasting client relationships, Advisors contribute to the firm’s reputation as a trusted provider of financial services and help secure the financial well-being of the clients they serve.
You’ll Get To…
Meet with existing clients to gather detailed information about their financial status, goals, risk tolerance, and future aspirations. This includes reviewing income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and current investment portfolios.
Identify and engage potential clients through networking, referrals, and targeted outreach efforts. Use your financial expertise to attract new clients who can benefit from the firm’s services.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, serving as their go-to financial expert. Regularly check in with clients to review their financial progress and make adjustments as necessary.
Work with clients to clearly define their financial goals, whether it's saving for retirement, funding education, purchasing a home, or planning for a legacy.
Create detailed, customized financial plans that outline strategies for achieving these goals. This might include recommendations for budgeting, saving, investing, insurance, and tax planning.
Assist clients in implementing their financial plans by setting up necessary accounts, purchasing recommended financial products, and coordinating with other professionals such as accountants or estate planners.
Develop investment strategies tailored to the client’s goals and risk tolerance, often recommending mutual funds, stocks, bonds, or other investment vehicles. Ensure the portfolio is diversified to manage risk while aiming to achieve the desired returns.
Monitor client portfolios and adjust them as needed based on market conditions or changes in the client’s financial situation. Provide regular updates to clients on portfolio performance and make recommendations for rebalancing or shifting strategies when necessary.
Evaluate clients' insurance needs as part of the overall financial plan, considering factors like income replacement, debt coverage, and long-term care.
Regularly review existing insurance policies to ensure they continue to meet the client’s needs, making adjustments or recommending new policies as required.
Help clients prepare for retirement by developing strategies that include retirement savings plans, and other investment options. Calculate retirement income needs and recommend savings targets and investment strategies to achieve those goals.
Work with clients to develop estate plans that ensure their assets are distributed according to their wishes. This might involve coordinating with legal professionals to create wills, trusts, or other estate planning documents.
Advise clients on strategies to minimize tax liabilities through smart investment choices, tax-advantaged accounts, and appropriate insurance products. This includes considering the tax implications of investment decisions and estate planning.
Conduct educational workshops or seminars on financial planning topics, such as retirement planning, investment strategies, and insurance, to help clients and potential clients increase their financial literacy.
Who We’re Looking For
Mutual Fund or Canadian Securities license obtained and in good standing: CIRO (Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization).
Life and Accident & Sickness Insurance license obtained and in good standing: FSRA (The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario).
Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designation is an asset.
Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) designation is an asset.
Qualified Associate Financial Planner™ (QAFP™) designation is an asset.
Strong ability to analyze financial data, understand market trends, and develop comprehensive financial plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in a way that clients can easily understand.

High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and trust.
Ability to meet or exceed growth targets by continuously seeking opportunities.

Commitment to staying updated on financial regulations, market trends, and new financial products or strategies.
Availability during business hours (8:30AM to 4:30PM EDT) to work a 37.5 hour work week Monday to Friday.
Proficiency and understanding of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software such as Salesforce is an asset.

Cash Compensation Range (CAD)
$40,000 to $60,000 + commission
The base cash compensation (salary) for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, licensing, and professional industry accreditation, among other factors.
In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions, bonuses and/or overtime pay).
